Fantastic service!

I was keen to build a cabin to use as an outside office so set about looking on the internet for what I thought would be the best one to serve my needs. I had already cleared an area in the garden and my finger was dangerously teetering over the ‘Pay Now’ button on a website with no reviews. I had selected the cheapest one, which was my only criteria, so what could go wrong? The pictures were nice.

My phone bleeped and it was my brother reminding me about some shelving I had to help him with so I decided to make a quick journey to Handcross Hardware to get some screws – it’s always a pleasure going there. I noticed Hortons Portable Buildings on the way and made a mental note to stop on the way back to maybe have a walk around, look at colour schemes and basically get the feel of a cabin inside and out so I could close the deal on my internet cabin later on with a better idea of what I was doing.

Now the story starts.

After a very friendly and informative chat with Craig at the viewing office , I had to admit that I had overlooked a lot of the key areas regarding cabins such as the law, fire regulations, design, foundations, weed control, roofing, weather proofing, insulating, hardware, etc, etc… the list was endless. I was in a cold sweat at the thought that I nearly committed to buy a more expensive but massively inferior and incomplete cabin on the internet earlier that day.

We were able to easily modify the design of one of their base models which gave me maximum space within the perimeter of the plot while still being mindful of fire regulations and planning law. This would have been an expensive mistake had I gone about things without the expert guidance I received.

I opted for their installer, Paul, to come and build the cabin as it was getting late in the year and would have taken me a while to do it on my own taking weather windows into consideration. This was a hassle-free process as Paul and his small team were very friendly, dedicated and have a lot of experience. The delivery of the cabin was poetry in motion owing to the questionnaire provided to ensure access was not a problem – it took into consideration the width of the road, position of the plot and height of overhanging trees/power lines amongst lots other criteria on the access lane. Hortons have a range of delivery vehicles, each one suited to the individual needs of the site they are delivering to. I shudder to think my ‘internet’ cabin would have been dumped outside in the road had I gone ahead and ordered it….

During the build, it soon became obvious that all the timber, hardware, paint, weather protection and glazing were of the highest possible quality. This makes sense because Hortons can’t simply hide behind a website and disappear if people make complaints and ask for refunds.

I have nearly completed my ‘Man-Cave/Office/Cabin’ now in terms of interior fit-out and decor but I don’t want the project to end. I am constantly looking for interesting items to adorn it with so as to accentuate the personality it truly deserves.

So to conclude this review without the fear of rambling on, I am one very happy customer. Well done Team Hortons!!!

Really happy with the quality of my new shed, (16′ by 12′) and the ease of which I was able to make changes and customise the order right up to the point the shed went into build. The shed was delivered on time and and wrapped to keep the weather out until the time came to build it. I did underestimate how heavy each panel was going to be and later on decided to employ Hortons to complete this for me. Just about to order a second (bigger) one as a workshop.
While I know there are cheaper sheds out there, Keith’s service at the Lower Beading branch of Hortons is second to none and worth paying the slight extra for.

I am delighted to wholeheartedly endorse and recommend your splendid sheds and fine service!

I attach photos of our completed shed (more like a palace…..). The process of ordering and the advice given was exemplary. Considering the fine quality of all the timber and the easy way it accurately fitted together, the price was very fair. Even when I discovered a very minor shortage of screws, more were found for me very quickly, and without fuss.

Do not waste your time going anywhere else , top draw in every department . In my opinion the Lugarde range of products is so well made & competitive in price you will have a real job bettering this product . Ten out of ten all round . Pleasure in doing business .

I would like to thank Keith and his team for their expertise in undertaking the repairs to my log cabin which was installed just over 2 years ago by Skinners with numerous problems which ultimately left me with a leak that Skinners were not interested in resolving with extremely poor customer service. Hortons fully explained the issues and rectified the problem of the leak and the associated sticking door due to the leak. I would highly recommend Hortons to undertake installation and maintenance works in relation to log cabins as their expertise is outstanding.

We recently brought some new doors and windows for our existing log cabin from Hortons and we’re very pleased with them! They are double glazed and a more modern style than the ones we previous had which had seen better days! I have painted/stained them and they look great, just need to finish the re stain of the cabin now to do them justice! We had great service from our telephone contact staff member Craig who was very helpful and answered our queries… much appreciated Craig. These are some photos though I still need to give the single shed door and double side windows another coat of stain which I will do if the rain stops!

What a fantastic company to deal with! Our log cabin had some rotted timbers and Hortons came in, lifted the whole thing up, and replaced the timbers and added a DPC as well. From the initial survey to the finished work, we couldn’t be happier with the service we received. Highly recommended.

An excellent business interaction with Horton’s. Reasonably priced, quick to attend and an overall excellent service. If you have an existing cabin, Horton’s will help to extend the cabin life and I would thoroughly recommend them.

After 18 years, our cabin had a couple of logs needing repair. Full marks to Hortons who were able to lift the cabin and repair. On site team were great – informative, tidy and diligent. Thank you

On discovering that Hortons could ‘jack up’ my existing cabin and replace rotten ground panels and repair rotten ‘nibs’ and other works I proceeded with the repairs that should give my cabin another 15 years life.. considerably cheaper than replacing it.

I was really pleased with the customer service, everything was answered satisfactorily and the delivery date given was met. The delivery was dealt with efficiently and timely. Frank and Anthony were great and the cabin was built in no time. Overall a fantastic service and having researched lots of companies Hortons had what we were looking for. Would highly recommend. We are pleased with our extra entertaining space.
