UK Log Cabins offer many different services – we are able to relocate your garden cabin, garden office or summerhouse.
This video shows the actual moving part of the whole project that we are undertaking –
- Remove the old rotten floor
- Lift the garden cabin up by about 300mm
- Fit very heavy duty caster wheels (solid rubber tyres to avoid damaging the patio surface
- Move the #logcabin cabin to it’s new location
- Set the cabin down on stilts
- Replace any rotten bottom logs
- Build a new floor on a damp proof membrane under the raised cabin
- Set the cabin back down onto the new floor
- Raise the roof of the cabin in order to insert 3 more courses of logs to increase the height by about 400mm
- Set the cabin back down and paint
- Add a 3.5m x 2.5m extension onto the back of the cabin
This was a relatively easy log cabin move as it was a reasonably small cabin moving a short distance – but would still require other companies to quote to dismantle the cabin and then rebuild it which would obviously take much longer and cost substantially more than us.
What services can we offer?
This job didn’t require any heavy duty moving equipment that we have available should the need arise – moving a further distance or cross grass etc would require powered wheels, motorised lifters or tracked machinery, which we have available to move garden buildings within a garden.
If you are moving house then UK Log Cabins can also carefully take your garden building down, transport it to the new location and rebuild it (repairing anything that needs to be repaired in the process). This would most likely be cheaper than buying a new cabin.
